Scotland Oil Company will provide quality products at competitive prices while offering outstanding service to all customers with the intention to generate fair and reasonable profits while maintaining and protecting the environment in a responsible manner.
History of Scotland Oil Company, Inc.
Scotland Oil Co. Inc. was founded in 1974 by J. Phillip Deja. After graduating from Western Michigan University in 1969 with a Bachelor of Science degree, Mr. Deja became an employee of Amoco Oil Co., working in the marketing and distribution division of Amoco. In 1974, Mr. Deja established Scotland Oil Company, servicing the retail, agricultural, commercial, and residential home heating customer base in Central Michigan with their petroleum needs. In 1996, Mr. Deja’s son Jason joined the company after graduating from Western Michigan University with a marketing degree. Jason Deja became the President of Scotland Oil in February of 2015. His involvement in the management of Scotland Oil provides stability and longevity to the company. Through his direct efforts and guidance, the company has successfully expanded into the propane and transportation areas of the industry. Scotland Oil Co. and its twenty-five employees presently service over 3,000 customers in the Central Michigan area thru its three bulk plants located in Alma, Remus, and Edenville Township, Michigan.
